As soon as they all arrived, Tex scaled a telephone pole outside of Sharon’s gate to her home. He cut the phone line.
Tex and the followers then climbed over a hedged embankment to get onto the property, as they were concerned about setting off any alarms that might be attached to Sharon’s front gate.
Headlines pointed down the driveway near the followers, and someone was driving up to exactly where they were, in a car. Tex stepped forward to confront the driver, and the women lay down on the ground so they wouldn’t be seen in the dark.

Tex shot and killed the driver, 18-year-old Steven Parent, as he begged for his life. Steven had been visiting with Sharon’s caretaker who lived in the guest house.
Tex and the followers made their way up to Sharon’s home, and unable to find an open window, Tex cut out a screen and climbed through, letting the women in too, via the home’s front door. Linda stayed outside as a lookout.

Wojciech was asleep on a couch in Sharon’s living room, and he woke up as the followers entered. Tex attacked him, while the women searched the home for everyone else inside.
Tex then tied Jay and Sharon to each other. As Jay tried to fight back, Tex shot and killed him. After Abigail was forced to give the followers all the money in her handbag, a grand total of $70, Tex stabbed her.
Wojciech managed to escape, but Tex caught up with him as he made it to the front steps of Sharon’s home. He was shot twice but survived.
Abigail also was able to get out of the house, but the followers caught up with her too. They stabbed her to death, then did the same to Wojciech.
Sharon was still alive, inside her living room, while all of this happened.

She begged for her life and that of her unborn baby. She cried and asked that the followers spare her so she could give birth to her son.
Sharon was only two weeks away from having her baby. Tex stabbed her 16 times, and Sharon sadly passed away, along with her unborn son.
Before leaving Sharon’s home, Susan Atkins wrote on the door of her home “Pig.” Susan used Sharon’s blood to write the message.

One of the maids had come to clean the home the following morning and discovered the heartbreaking scene. She then ran from Sharon’s home, screaming at the top of her lungs.
