She No Longer Wants To Attend Her Brother’s Wedding After Learning His Fiancée Was Trash-Talking Her And Claiming She Had An Affair With A Married Man During Her Bachelorette Party

This 28-year-old woman and her 32-year-old brother, Mark, have been quite close ever since they were kids.

“We’re not like best friends or anything, but we’ve always had a good relationship,” she said.

Then, when he met his now-fiancée, Sarah, she was really happy for both of them and genuinely thought Sarah seemed like a nice woman.

More recently, though, her view of her soon-to-be sister-in-law completely changed after Sarah’s bachelorette party.

For some context, she wasn’t invited to the celebration – which took place a few weeks ago – and she was a little hurt by that. However, she figured Sarah might have just wanted close friends there and didn’t read too much into it.

Later, she learned from a friend who attended the party that Sarah had gotten pretty drunk and had begun completely trash-talking her to the rest of the attendees!

Her friend called her up, sounding very awkward, and spilled the shocking beans. She found out that Sarah claimed she was having an affair with her married neighbor. On top of that, Sarah supposedly talked about how she was “always” flirting with the guy and said that she would sleep with “anyone.”

The worst part? All of the other girls at the bachelorette party were apparently just laughing and agreeing with Sarah, according to her friend. No one even tried to stop the gossiping bride-to-be.

In the wake of hearing about what went down, she can’t help but feel seriously surprised and upset, either.

“First off, I’m not having an affair with my neighbor. He’s just a friendly guy, and we chat sometimes, but nothing more,” she explained.

“And to hear Sarah say such disgusting things about me behind my back, especially when I thought we were on good terms, it hurt a lot.”

That’s why she decided to confront her brother, Mark, about the situation, and she thought he would understand why she was so disappointed.

Yet, he was actually just super dismissive – rationalizing Sarah’s behavior by saying she was drunk and didn’t mean what she said. He also accused her of overreacting and insinuated that her friend may be exaggerating.

“But I trust my friend, and the way she told me, it seemed like Sarah really believed what she was saying,” she noted.

This pushed her to tell Mark that she wasn’t so sure about attending the wedding anymore, and he was furious. Her brother thinks that she’s just making everything about herself – believing that she should “suck it up” to support him on his big day.

She, on the other hand, can’t get over how humiliated she feels.

“I don’t know how I can stand there and celebrate when the bride thinks I’m this awful person and is spreading lies that could ruin my reputation,” she vented.

Now, she can’t help but wonder if skipping her brother’s wedding over this would be justified given what happened or make her a real jerk.

Would you be able to go to your brother’s wedding after something like this? Or does she have a right not to attend after being disrespected?
