A mom and TikToker named Kara (@vibingranolamom) went viral not too long ago for naming her daughter after a ride from Disney World.
Kara is from Florida, so of course, she is a fan of all things Disney. Her initial viral video, in which she revealed her daughter was named after Splash Mountain, has gained over five million views on TikTok.
In the clip, she is shown holding her baby while expressing her disappointment about how the popular water ride was closing in January 2023. In its place will be a new attraction: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
“The ride I named my daughter after shut down today at Disney. I’m so sad,” she wrote in the text overlay of the video.
Several TikTok users poked fun in the comments with guesses on what her daughter’s name might be.
“So sorry sweet little Ellen’s energy adventure,” commented one user.
“Guardians of the galaxleigh,” remarked a second.
“Aww give splashlee hugs for me,” wrote a third.
Kara provided a follow-up post where she launched into a further explanation about her child’s name. She clarified that her daughter’s name is not Splash Mountain but Briar.
“I got her name because I was looking at a baby name list on Pinterest when I was pregnant, and I saw the name Briar, and I never heard of it,” she explained.
Kara loved how the name was related to nature, and it reminded her of the briar patch on the Splash Mountain ride. She added that the name does not have any other background other than just being a reference to the ride.
Toward the end of the video, she also mentioned that she was okay with the ride being replaced with one that features the Disney princess Tiana since the Princess and the Frog is one of her favorite Disney movies.
