Today, one of the biggest names in pop music is Sabrina Carpenter.
Sabrina’s voice is everywhere these days, and if you listen to pop radio or even spend a few minutes a day scrolling through popular apps like TikTok, you’ve likely heard some of her hit songs such as “Espresso” and “Please, Please, Please.”
While Sabrina’s pop music career has become much bigger in the last year, the star has been working hard to make a name for herself as a performer since she was a little girl.
Sabrina is 25-years-old (her birthday is May 11th) and was raised in Pennsylvania alongside her three sisters.
Sabrina was homeschooled, and as a kid, one of her favorite pastimes was recording videos of herself singing a few of her favorite songs and posting them to YouTube.
When she was around 10-years-old, her parents encouraged her to start performing professionally, and she began recording music, singing in competitions, and auditioning for television shows and movies.
Throughout the early 2010s, Sabrina landed multiple roles in television and even did some voice acting for the Disney Channel.
In 2013, Sabrina was cast in her breakout role when she played Maya in the Disney series, “Girl Meets World.”
The show aired for four years, and Sabrina continued to record music throughout that time.
Her debut album, “Eyes Wide Open,” was released in 2015, and she continued releasing music while continuing to book more roles in movies and shows, like Hailey in “The Hate U Give” and
Harper in “Tall Girl.” She also performed on Broadway, playing Cady Heron in the musical adaptation of “Mean Girls.”
After 2020, Sabrina appeared to dedicate most of her focus to her singing career and becoming a successful recording and touring artist. She had released five albums by 2022.
Sabrina put out one of her most popular songs, “Feather,” in August 2023, which took her name to the top of the charts and gained even more popularity when she started performing it during her opening act for Taylor Swift’s worldwide Eras Tour throughout 2023 and 2024.
In several interviews, Sabrina mentioned that opening for and performing with Taylor Swift was a dream come true for her.
Now, alongside Taylor, she’s a massive pop star known for putting on very fun performances and releasing more catchy music.
Something else that put Sabrina’s name in the headlines is her adorable relationship with Oscar-nominated Irish actor Barry Keoghan (although sadly, there are rumors flying around right now that they might be over).
Sabrina and Barry, currently best known for his raunchy portrayal of Oliver in the 2023 film “Saltburn,” first sparked dating rumors toward the end of that year and eventually confirmed people’s suspicions when they showed some PDA on a date in Los Angeles.
They made their official public debut when they attended a Vanity Fair party together after the Oscars in March 2024. They attended and got ready for the prestigious Met Gala together two months later.
Since appearing in public as a couple for the first time, Barry seemed to be a loyal and supportive boyfriend, standing in the crowd at several of Sabrina’s live performances, including her 2024 Coachella set, singing along to her lyrics and bopping his head.
Fans of both Sabrina and Barry truly began swooning when he starred alongside her in her romantic music video for her hit song, “Please, Please, Please,” which has gone extremely viral on social media platforms.
Sabrina continues working hard to please her fans, especially after releasing her sixth album and completing her tour in America this fall.
Her latest album, “Short n’ Sweet,” was released on August 23rd, and it made for great listening for closing out this summer.
