In the final stretch of her nursing program, 23-year-old Tamilore Odunsi was supposed to be celebrating. Instead, her life was brutally cut short—allegedly by someone she shared her home with.
Tamilore, a British citizen studying in Houston, Texas, had documented her life as an international student on TikTok. Her videos were full of joy, gratitude, and excitement about her future as a nurse. But just days before graduation, police found her dead in her apartment, the result of multiple stab wounds.
Her roommate, 35-year-old Chester Lamar Grant, has been charged with her murder.
What We Know About the Crime
On April 26, officers responded to Tamilore’s apartment for a welfare check. What they found was devastating: Tamilore, unresponsive and covered in stab wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Grant, her roommate of about two months, was found in the apartment as well—suffering from what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later charged with murder on May 3.
Authorities have not released many details, but court documents reveal that the argument reportedly started over their cats. A disagreement turned violent—and Tamilore paid the price.
A Promising Future, Stolen
Tamilore had recently passed her nursing board exams and was preparing to walk the stage in her cap and gown. She had plans. She had ambition. She had so much to give to the world—not just as a nurse, but as a vibrant, kind, and determined young woman.

Her social media presence captured the hearts of many. On TikTok, she documented everything from her study routines to moments of celebration with friends. She called her mother nearly every day. She was loved. She was grounded. She was ready for her next chapter.
Now, her family is preparing for something no parent should ever have to face: bringing their daughter home not for a celebration, but for a funeral.
Community Outrage and Support
As the news spread, support poured in from across the globe. A GoFundMe campaign set up to repatriate her body has already raised over £54,000. Friends, classmates, and strangers alike have shared tributes, heartbreak, and disbelief.
This wasn’t just a senseless murder—it was a tragic reminder of how quickly someone’s life can be taken, even by those closest to them.
Tamilore Odunsi should be here. She should be pinning on her nursing badge. She should be taking photos with her classmates. She should be alive.
Instead, we remember her through the light she left behind—and we demand justice for the life that was stolen.
