He Lived In A Creepy House Where An Elderly Woman Passed Away And It Took Days For Someone To Find Her

During this man’s junior year of college, he didn’t renew his lease in time, so he needed to find a different apartment to move into.

There weren’t many places available, but some co-workers told him he could live in their game room for $400 a month.

Since he’d been paying $900 in rent at his previous apartment, he was thrilled and immediately accepted their offer.

He planned to stay for only four months until he moved downtown with college friends. The house he’d be moving into was in Montgomery, around 18 minutes away from Savannah, Georgia.

The outside of the home was dark brick, and a huge backyard led to a swampy area of land. Oak trees covered in Spanish moss surrounded the house, which had two floors. His roommates were much older than he was, but he still had a blast spending time with them.

One night, he and his roommates played poker in the kitchen. Suddenly, someone pounded on the door as if trying to get in, even though the door was locked.

They assumed their other roommate, Kyle, who wasn’t home, had returned because he didn’t bring his keys. He left the table to open the door, but Kyle wasn’t there when he did.

When he peeked outside, he didn’t see anyone. As he glanced around, he saw their empty backyard.

He returned to the poker game, and his roommates thought the noise was strange. They all assumed someone had been knocking on the door and attempting to get inside.

He was baffled, but he pushed the strange experience to the back of his mind and enjoyed the rest of the night.

Several weeks later, he worked at a local bar during brunch. Afterward, one of his roommates, Sean, bought a bottle of Jameson, and they drank with one of their other roommates, Billy.

They talked and sat at the kitchen table while they drank a fourth of the bottle. He and his roommates discussed work, joked around, and took shots of Jameson.

“Then, the three of us were abruptly prompted to look at the linoleum countertop. I don’t know what prompted us, but when I peered over my shoulder, I saw a bowl glide across the countertop in a stifled manner. It was as if a frail finger was pushing it toward an indifferent destination,” he said.

After the bowl stopped moving, he quickly glanced back at Billy and Sean, whose mouths were hanging open.

They were all stunned and began laughing awkwardly. Billy asked if they’d all seen the same thing, and he and Sean affirmed they had.

He stood up and wandered over to the countertop where they’d seen the bowl move by itself. Then, he slid his hand across the counter to see if it was wet, which could have explained the weird occurrence, but it was completely dry.

No breeze wafted through an open window, and there was no other outlandish explanation for what happened, like “an invisible string or a magician.” The experience was scary, but they laughed and moved on with their day.

In October, about a month after the strange bowl incident, his parents visited him from North Georgia.

They brought their blue heeler dog, Duke, along for the trip. He and his parents walked around the popular River Street to see the shops.

They ate dinner at the popular restaurant Vic’s on the River and explored the amazing sweets at Savannah’s Candy Kitchen.

Once they finished dinner, his parents explained that their hotel wasn’t pet-friendly and asked if he’d be okay with allowing Duke to spend the night at his house.

He was fine with this idea, and his parents gave him and Duke a ride back to his house before returning to their hotel. After he brought Duke into the house, he and his roommates played with the dog until everyone went to bed.

He and Duke went to the game room. When he moved into the house, he put his bed in the corner of the room, facing two large windows on the opposite wall.

Eventually, he fell asleep, and Duke slept at the foot of the bed. He’s normally a deep sleeper and doesn’t wake up to noises.

“Yet, out of a deep sleep, I awoke to a low, guttural growl. Moonlight shone in from the windows, and I saw Duke standing. His heckles were raised, and this guttural growl, which I had never heard before, persisted. He was looking up at something, something I couldn’t see. Whatever it was, it seemed to be lingering over the bed,” he explained.

Understandably nervous, he held Duke close to him, and this helped Duke calm down. Even though he was shaken, he was able to fall back to sleep.

In November, he chose to go home to North Georgia to spend Thanksgiving with his family. The family home was on a tiny cattle farm in a town called Ellijay, and it’s gorgeous during autumn. He drove home and stayed for a couple of days.

One afternoon, he was unbearably exhausted and walked into his bedroom to nap. Suddenly, when he woke, he experienced sleep paralysis. As he lay on the bed, frozen, his forehead was sweaty. Out of his peripheral vision, he could see his mirror above his dresser, and the mirror’s reflection was horrifying.

“An old woman, pale, bony, and damp, lingered over me. She had jet-black hair and exuded an energy of apprehension and malice. At this point, I’m freaking out, struggling to break free from this paralysis. After a few moments, I snapped out of it. My heart was racing, and I leaped out of bed,” he shared.

After he stood up, he looked around, and the woman had already disappeared. In December, he was a month away from moving out of the house in Montgomery.

One night, he and his roommates were playing chess, and as they talked, somehow, they got on the topic of death.

During the conversation, Billy asked Sean about the previous homeowners. Since Sean was logical, truthful, and not someone who exaggerated, he knew the story would be accurate.

Sean glanced at him before explaining the history of the previous homeowners that he’d learned from one of their neighbors.

According to their neighbors, an elderly couple lived in the house before them. The man suffered from intense dementia, and his wife was his caregiver.

One day, a neighbor noticed the man wandering around the neighborhood alone, so they brought him back to his house.

Once the man and his neighbor entered the home, the neighbor smelt something awful. The neighbor called out the man’s wife’s name, but she didn’t answer. Worried, the neighbor began searching around the house for the man’s wife.

Tragically, the neighbor eventually discovered the source of the horrible smell. The man’s wife had passed away in their bedroom and had been lying on the bed for several days.

After hearing what happened to the woman, he got chills all over his body and immediately recalled all the terrifying experiences he’d had since moving into the house, as well as the sleep paralysis he’d experienced at his family’s house.

Since moving out of the house he shared with his roommates, the house was sold. He wondered if he’d imagined some of the creepy occurrences or if they were just weird, isolated incidents. At the same time, he believed something paranormal might have haunted the house in Montgomery.
