As of 2021, the OnlyFans platform has over eighty-five million users. Initially created in 2016 with the goal of helping content creators monetize content, the platform has catapulted in popularity.
Nowadays, it is not uncommon to see already-famous content creators advertise their OnlyFans on Instagram, TikTok, and the like.
The TikToker @MissNatalieRae went viral not too long ago for doing the exact same thing.
She posted a video, backed by a trending TikTok audio, that simply said she made an account to help cover her bills. She also captioned the video, “Make money from men my mum always said… so I did.”
Natalie’s video quickly garnered nearly millions of views and her comment section transformed into an argument zone. Many people began degrading Natalie’s decision, while the other half of the TikTok community jumped to her support.
The negative and hateful comments turned into long threads, with many women jumping to defend Natalie.
“She’s laughing all the way to the bank!” commented one woman.
“All the people in these comments that are mad need to take it up with their dads, brothers, and boyfriends who are paying this woman’s bills,” joked another.
Natalie did not entertain most of the comments. But, she did make a video response to one mean comment in particular. One user sarcastically wrote on her video, “Your parents or kids must be proud of you,” with a clapping hands emoji.
“I get this comment a lot, and it makes me laugh every single time,” Natalie began her follow-up video, “Because ninety-nine percent of the time, it comes from a guy.”
“Everybody does it,” she said, “But just because I will publicly say I do it, that makes my kids or parents ‘proud’ of me.”
So, if the audience is there, someone needs to fulfill the demand. Why shouldn’t Natalie or any other woman jump on this opportunity if they feel comfortable with it?
“Stop acting as though it’s the worst thing on earth. Everyone does it. Get over it,” Natalie concluded her video.
